For all those out there wanting to write but unable to figure out where to start here is the best tip I can give you: just write. Words on a page, an idea, an outline, whatever just start. Nobody has to know but you. I wrote a book without my husband, family, or friends even knowing what I was doing until I was done. Don't worry about grammar, flow, or cheesy dialogue until you are ready to edit. You will always be unfulfilled if you tell yourself I can finish just after this edit or just after the outline is perfect. Very few people I met write fiction like that LOL.
Write everyday you can. Keep notes to keep yourself fresh. Keep a pad of paper just for your writing. I have a notebook for poetry and prose that I write in if energy strikes and I am away from my computer. It helps settle the story that threatens to explode if I do not get it down. Artists sketch and then go back and create. There is a reason for that.
Never be afraid to scribble down an idea. It might not work, but not writing it down because you are afraid guarantees an epic failure! Don't let your ideas go to waste.
Want an example? I started a story and could never finish it. I wanted to but it just was silly to me. I ended up using a part of it for another work. If I had never written it down then I would never have had my major epiphany and Daughter of Ares would not be what it is today.
